Microsoft has silently launched its social network site, So.cl, which had been  launched and development for almost a year.
This new social networking websites is  to help students connect with each other. to share knowledge

We expect students to continue use products such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other existing social networks in global, as well as Bing, Google and other search  engine tools.
We moyivate and  encourage students to reimagine how our  communication & learning tools can be improved day by day, by researching it ,and  learning and sharing in their everyones lives,
" says Microsoft on So.cl's FAQ page.

Pronounced as “Social”, the social network, Microsoft, says is not  against Facebook or Twitter. Instead, it is an addition layer [or] tool to the existing social networking concept – and accepts login via Facebook or Windows Live account. for your personalised account

However, So.cl is quite similar to other social media sites,in global and
as it allows users to share pages of  their interest, discuss on any topic. By default, all searches in So.cl are set to be in public. But users can mark their content as “private” if they want and can delete as well.
The layout looks somehow similar to Google+, also inspired from Facebook site, Twitter as well
